"The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming
is where the dance of life really takes place." ~
Barbara DeAngelis

 Shortly after graduating from
college, I took a painting
road trip down south.
I ended up camping in a
beautiful spot on
Roan Mountain in
Tennessee for several days.
A part of me never left.

Years later I returned
to Roan Mountain.
I think of and visualize it often,
as my special place where I am
at peace with myself
and spiritually connected
to the natural world.

This is Opie & Goober.
They were litter mates I adopted as
small kittens. They were my constant
companions for many years. Both were
extremely friendly individuals
who would follow you anywhere.
The orange tabby, Opie,
outlived Goober by quite a few years.
I had him put to sleep a few years
ago at 17 and still miss him today.
He was a very special
friend and was a big part
of most of my adult life.
