Tony van Hasselt's Maine Watercolor Workshop

Day 5

Milt's House / Gallery

Our location for the fifth day was a local neighborhood where a friend of Tony's lived. His name was Milt and his house was a gallery of his artwork. I must say, his home and his work were both quite remarkable.

Tony did a quick pattern sketch of Milt's house, then set to work on the half sheet watercolor without so much as a pencil line as a guide. He used a warm pre-underpainted sheet which he had a student pick out from a stack of them he had. (He got to decide which side was up though.)
