Owl's Head Lighthouse

As you can see, as usual, I used artistic license and altered the steps and foreground quite a bit. This was the kind of painting that just flows and the hours just melted away as the images took form.

I finished this about 90% on location. There were lots of tourists there that afternoon and I quickly got used to the steady stream of onlookers with their never ending enthusiastic compliments. About 3:30, the wind kicked up and it got awfully cold and my easel kept blowing over. It was time to head back to the studio for Tony's critique.
