| A fundamental focus of Chinese
medicine and philosophy is on balance and the flow of energy
within the body. This force is known as chi. The Yin Yang symbol
represents the harmony between Yin, the negative (black) force
and Yang, the positive (white) force. The symbol is black and
white with a dot of the other color in each, indicating that
nothing is ever entirely Yin or completely Yang. There is always
a trace of the other present. To me, this relates perfectly to
the art of riding, where each moment is a give and take between
the two life forces of horse and rider. |
