December 1st ~ Mentoring
| Last year I participated
in the 2008 smARTist Telesummit and learned so much from
Ariane Goodwin's great line up of art and marketing experts!
My personal growth accelerated as a result of this event. It
equipped me with the ideas, tools and confidence I needed to
strengthen my vision and refine my voice. These tele-seminars
engaged my creative spirit and energized my career. I'm so excited
about the upcoming lineup of speakers and have already signed
on for 2009! I highly recommend it to creative people and artists
at all levels. Check
out the smARTist Telesummit and see testimonials here. Sign
up by December 4th to get an early bird discount. |

"Today, more than ever,
the world needs your vision. As an artist, you carry the banner
of creativity high for the rest of us. When you are successful,
your art becomes our mirror. It reflects the creative longing
we all feel and desire." ~ Ariane Goodwin
"Professional artists, it
seems, are people gifted with an extreme willingness to buckle
down. They access books, mentors, workshops, and other professionals
to learn the standards required." ~ Robert Genn

December 4th ~ Opportunities
| I hardly know what
to write about this morning as I have so many options. The past
few days have been filled with a whirlwind of opportunities!
Having A.D.D., (Attention Deficit Disorder), I am finding it
hard to focus on any single one. I am excited about them all,
however. Most of these circumstances have come about because
of the internet and my obsession with blogging and more recently,
social networking. If you are interested my daily activities,
check out my web
log and join me as a friend on Facebook.
The world is your oyster! |

December 8th ~ Quote-a-holics Unite!
|
I have been collecting quotes
and repeating aphorisms since childhood. These days, I spend
countless hours perusing the many web sites that offer an abundance
of maxims, proverbs and inspiration. It's a habit that I am throughly
addicted to. Quotations often sum up my own thoughts and feelings,
condensed and beautifully expressed by someone wiser and more
eloquent than myself.
See more quotations on "Quotations"
this week on my daily quote blog; "Inspiration
for your day" .

"Collecting quotations is
an insidious, even embarrassing habit, like ragpicking or hoarding
rocks or trying on other people's laundry. I got into it originally
while trying to break an addiction to candy. I kicked candy and
now seem to be stuck with quotations, which are attacking my
brain instead of my teeth." ~ Robert Byrne

of many and the wit of one." ~ Lord John Russell

December 11th ~ Speculation
| Yesterday I got
out my big brushes and did a full sheet watercolor on speculation.
Like the contractor who builds a spec house, I call all the shots
on most of the paintings I create. It's riskier than doing commissioned
work, like house or pet portraits, but it's the path I've chosen.
Like the spec house builder, I decide on all the designs, colors
and themes and hope that someone will want to live with them. |
|
Quotes by Mark Twain on Speculation:
"There are two times in a man's life when he should not
speculate: when he can't afford it and when he can."
"October is one of the peculiarly
dangerous months to speculate in stocks in. The others are July,
January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December,
August, and February."

I'll detail this painting
today and get it framed up,
all ready for someone to fall in love with it.

December 15th ~ Satisfaction
| Sometimes satisfaction
comes easy. Most times it comes only after concentrated effort.
For some, it doesn't come at all. I think this only happens because
of lose of desire and focus. If you want something bad enough,
you can make it happen. The secret is to stay the course, eliminating
obstacles one by one, unwaveringly dedicated to achieving your
goals. |
|
Quotes on Satisfaction:
"Satisfaction lies in the
effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory."
~ Mahatma Gandhi
"I get great satisfaction
in creating a visual oasis to gaze at for a moment of peaceful
escape from the turbulent world." ~ Evelyn Dayman
"I wished to copy nature.
I could not. But I was satisfied when I discovered the sun, for
instance, could not be reproduced, but only represented by something
else." ~ Paul Cezanne

December 18th ~ Dashing Through The Woods
| I am excited to
have my dear friend, Betsy, coming over this morning for a winter
ride in the woods. Although we won't be "dashing through
the snow", the weather here is brisk! Now I'm thinking of
one of my all time favorite poems, so I'm posting it here for
you today. Happy Holidays Everyone! |
Stopping By Woods
On A Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost - 1922
Whose woods these are
I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must
think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness
bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely,
dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

December 22nd ~ Joy
| Christmastime really
brings out the joy in me! I find myself singing and dancing to
holiday tunes, even when they're only playing in my head. I get
silly and giggly and live in a wonderland world; alive with snowmen,
angels and elves. This time of year, more than any other, makes
my imagination run wild ... with wonderful possibilities. Becoming
a kid again at Christmas helps me look at life from a joyful
perspective. I am ... e n e r g i z e d ! ... Wahoo!! |

December 25th ~ More Joy
| Norman Vincent
Peale said; " Christmas waves a magic wand over this world,
and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful." Nothing
could be truer! This day feels more special to me than all the
others in the year. My cup overflows with so much love and joy,
I might explode with happiness! I'm rejoicing and connecting
to a collective consciousness of peace and love. No matter how
old I get, I become exactly like I was as a little kid; obsessed
with Christmas! Listening to Christmas Carols well before Thanksgiving
will continue until spring is in the air. Join in everyone, feel
the love and be glad! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!! |

December 29th ~ Good Vibrations
| Another year has
come to an end and I was going to write about new beginnings
here. Today's inspirational email from Abraham-Hicks changed
my tack however, as good vibes went racing through my being.
I'm excerpting these words; "When you focus upon the problems
of others, you diminish your ability to help them. We say; no
solution ever comes forth-from your place of focusing on the
problem. They are two entirely different vibrations. Beat the
drum of what's going right, and let that be your point of attraction.
If you focus upon problems, you achieve vibrational harmony with
something other than the Source that gives you solutions." |
