Dear Friends ~
I think we all find some degree of comfort
in our daily routines. It's always
beneficial to break from the chain from time to time however.
This allows us
to view our situation from a distance and helps us develop more
well rounded
viewpoints. The adventure of a new book, traveling to a new place,
getting together
with some old friends or making some new ones can change our
attitude and
ultimately our perspective on our lives.

Dear Friends ~
In my last email, I stated that we have
the power to shape our world. This is largely
accomplished through our attitude. As Nepolean Hill said, "
Your mental attitude
attracts to you everything that makes you what you are."
If we expect trouble, it
will be there. If we approach life with an attitude of calm and
resolve, obstacles
will be minimized. What we think about, comes about. How we react
to events
defines who we are in life and ultimately determines our health
and happiness.

Dear Friends ~

son who was
brought up in the house of his father. He had to do something
spectacular
to overcome the handicap of his birth. Through determination

Dear Friends ~
Nothing like a couple of great shows to
fire up my painting enthusiasm! Thanks to
all of you who came out to show your support at the Apple Festival
on Saturday.
Hope to see more of you next weekend at the Cranberry Festival
in Chatsworth!
One of the highlights of the show for me was selling three paintings
for a fellow
artist friend, Soo Ki Lee. A very shy oriental, Soo Ki sits in
the back of her tent,
barely giving anyone even eye contact. Her original floral watercolors
on rice
paper are stunning! We own one of her affordably priced masterpieces.
While
visiting her booth and hearing she hadn't sold a single piece,
I verbalized my
enthusiasm for her work to every passer by. I ended up selling
three paintings
for her! It made me feel great to see her happily reap the rewards
she deserves.

Dear Friends ~
I'm sure you've heard the saying, "The
guy with the most toys wins". Actually,
it should be, "the guy with the most friends wins".
Study after study shows that
having friends is an important stress reliever and actually attributes
to a longer,
healthier life. In one UCLA Study On Friendship, for example,
researchers found
that people who had no friends increased their risk of death
over a 6-month period.
In another study, those who had the most friends over a 9-year
period cut their risk
of death by more than 60%. It's important to make time for your
friends and not push
them to the back burner, because friends are such a source of
strength to each other.
We nurture one another and we need to have unpressured space
in which we can do
the special kind of talk that friends do. It's a necessary and
very healing experience.

This past weekend we had our best art
show so far this year. Over and over I kept hearing
the same word; "unique". Like music to my ears, that
adjective confirms the evolution of my
work and the direction of my path. I believe, in all the arts,
only those artists that develop a
personalized style can stand apart from the crowd and achieve
true and lasting success.
